William Gorton, CVMC Founder

Making and experiencing music together is a demonstration of the best of human endeavor. It is a process of reverse-engineering to go from pen and ink on a page back to the feeling inspired by the texts we sing. It is our hope to share this experience of joy with you in our performances. Your presence and support give us both the courage and the means to take this journey, and we trust that the benefit you receive as a result will make it all worthwhile.

William Gorton was recently an Assistant Professor of Voice and Opera at Millikin University, in Decatur, Illinois, where he taught studio voice, served as coach and conductor for the opera program, and directed Tudor Voices, a select chamber choir specializing in early music.

In 2016 Dr. Gorton became Director of Sacred Music at Haddonfield United Methodist Church, in Haddonfield, NJ, and Director of the New Jersey Master Chorale.
